Long-Term Care Insurance
Chronic illness or injury can often leave people
unable to care for themselves. While Long-Term Disability
(LTD) insurance provides income protection to the insured
person if they become disabled, the Long-Term Care Insurance
Plan is designed to pay a portion of expenses related
to nursing and home health care.
Coverage Options
Individualized polices can be designed to best suit
your needs. Coverage can be purchased on you, your spouse
or domestic partner, and your parents and parents-in-laws.
For the definition of domestic partner, see Your
Eligibility for Health Alliance Benefits.
Benefits provided by this insurance include:
- Nursing home care - daily benefits from $50 to $500
per day
- Home health care - daily benefits from $50 to $500
per day
- Adult day care and assisted living - daily benefits
from $50 to $500 per day
- Pool of money - allows benefit dollars to be paid
over a longer period of time
- Shared care - allows couples to have one benefit
pool to share
- Non-forfeiture - rider allows some continued coverage
after cancellation of policy.
